Recommendation to Grant EL2/2020 - Mount Dundas

The Director of Mines intends to recommend to the Minister for Resources that he grant the following exploration licence:

The application excludes existing mining leases, National Parks and reserved or other lands exempted from the Mineral Resources Development Act 1995.

If the licence is granted, consent is required from Mineral Resources Tasmania prior to any exploration activity taking place.  An explorer must provide 14 days notice prior to accessing private land. Security deposits are held against the licence in the event that the explorer fails to meet their rehabilitation obligations. Comments on the application may be lodged with the Registrar of Mines (PO Box 672, Burnie, TAS 7320).

Any person holding a mineral tenement, or claiming an estate or interest in respect of any land within an application area may lodge a formal objection to the granting of that application. Each objection must be in writing and lodged with the Registrar of Mines prior to 22 August 2020. The objection form must be accompanied by the prescribed fee of $45.36.
