Sixteen projects share Exploration Drilling Grant Initiative (EDGI) funding in round 5
Sixteen successful projects will share in approximately $780,000 in grants from the fifth round of Exploration Drilling Grant Initiative (EDGI) funding.
EDGI is a Tasmanian Government initiative to increase the level of greenfield drilling in Tasmania. The aim is to facilitate discovery of the new projects which are necessary for the long term future of Tasmania’s mining industry. For the first time projects on mining leases were eligible for funding in Round 5.
So far more than $666,000 in EDGI grants have been paid toward completed projects in rounds 1 to 4. If all Round 5 projects are completed, the total EDGI investment will be over $1.4 million.
Successful Round 5 projects, four of which are on mining leases, are listed below and their locations are shown on the map.
