Six Projects Share Exploration Drilling Grant Initiative (EDGI) Funding in Round 6

Six successful projects will share in approximately $300,000 in grants from the sixth round of Exploration Drilling Grant Initiative (EDGI) funding. EDGI is a Tasmanian Government initiative to increase the level of greenfield drilling in Tasmania. The aim is to facilitate discovery of the new projects necessary for the long-term future of Tasmania’s mining industry. As was the case for the first time in Round 5, projects on Mining Leases were eligible for funding in Round 6.

So far more than $666,000 in EDGI grants have been paid toward completed projects from Rounds 1 to 4. Round 5 is still active and no payments for Round 5 projects have yet been made but If all Round 5 and 6 projects are completed, the total EDGI investment will be approximately $1.7 million.

Successful Round 6 projects are listed below and their locations are shown on the attached map.

A seventh round of EDGI project proposal applications are expected to be called in early 2022.
