Baretop 1:25,000 scale map now available
This new 1:25,000 scale map incorporates data from recent mapping traverses conducted in the eastern half of the sheet (between 2017-2020), historical mapping from the 1:50,000 St Valentines series (Baillie et al., 1986), and sampling undertaken by Geopeko in 1993. The western portion of the map is based on interpretations of geophysical datasets (radiometrics and magnetics), as well as LiDAR and aerial imagery. It identifies new areas of the Oonah Formation and ultramafic rocks north of Mt Bischoff, and provides more detailed facies-level subdivisions within the Luina Group. Contact relationships between the Lower Parmeener Supergroup and Paleogene–Quaternary sequences have also been refined.
Digital geology datasets have been updated to reflect the new mapping and can be downloaded from the Digital Data Download page.
Digital copies of the map are available for download from the Map Catalogue, and hardcopies can be purchased from MRT for $11.00.
