New interpretation of magnetotelluric data from western Tasmania
A research team including Mark Duffett, Daniel Bombardieri and Andrew McNeill from MRT, has published the results of a 2D magnetotelluric transect from Granville Harbour to the Collingwood Range, east of Queenstown.
The 2D resistivity model produced indicates low-resistivity zones in the shallow to deep crust which correspond to major crustal faults and possibly fluid pathways associated with the Mt Lyell copper mineralisation and metamorphism in the Tyennan block.
